Halloween Candy Cone

Welcome to day three of 31 days of Halloween crafts! Today we're going to be making Halloween candy cones.

Materials:

- decorative paper

- tissue paper

- stickers or die cuts

- string

- awl or thick needle

- double stick tape

Starting with a square of 6 inch by 6 inch decorative paper, put double sided tape on one side. You can also use glue or washi tape for this, I just like double-sided tape because it's invisible once you use it. Roll your paper into a cone.

Cut some strips of tissue paper about an inch and a half wide and fringe it leaving an uncut strip at the top about the width of your double stick tape. If you have fringing scissors this will go a lot quicker. Measure the length of the top of your cone as this will be the length of your strips of fringe.

Add double stick tape to the top of one of your fringes and stick it to the top of your cone, lining up edge to edge.

Do the same with the next strip of fringe, but this time have the edge of the tape halfway overlapping the edge of the cone so that you can fold it down, and the length of the fringe will be staggered.

For the third strip of fringe stick it to the inside of the cone and then bend down the fringe on top of your other layers. This staggers the fringe and allows you to see all the different colors.

Using an awl or a thick needle, poke holes into the cone at the top and thread them with some yarn or string. Make sure you double knot the ends after you stick them through so that they definitely won't go through the holes you made.

Next, if you want to add a little bit more pizzazz you can stick some stickers or other decorative elements to the front. I'm using a vintage style die cut pumpkin and just using double stick tape to adhere it.

Optionally, fill your cone with some tissue paper just to give it a more decorative look and then of course fill your cone with candy and hang it up. You can make a bunch of these and hang them all over your house so that wherever you are, you always have some candy to hand during the Halloween season.
