Enoch Tassel Earrings (Over the Garden Wall) Oct 8 Written By Amy Plante Welcome to Day 8 of 31 Days of Halloween! Today we’ll be making a pair of tassel earrings inspired by Enoch from Over the Garden Wall. Materials:- polymer clay- string for tassels- earring findings- eye pins First let's make the tassels. Get a small rectangle of sturdy cardboard that's the length of what you want your tassels to be. Cut a piece of string that's a few inches long and lay this at the top of your cardboard. Next, take your tassel string and begin to wrap it around your cardboard. I wrapped mine 12 times, but feel free to do however many wraps you want. When you finish wrapping, use that first string that you started with to tie a really tight knot and slide your loops off of the cardboard. Next, take another piece of string and, slightly below the top knot, bundle all the strings together with another double knot. Cut all your loops and trim the strings to be an even length. Do the whole thing again to make a matching tassel. Next, we're going to make the little Enoch pumpkins out of polymer clay. I like to pre-mix all my colors before I start sculpting. I'm starting with rolling the dark orange into a little ball. Create little strings of the light orange with tapered edges and wrap them around the ball like a beach ball. Roll the ball in your hands to make everything smooth. When you're done with that it should look like this. Next, use a toothpick and a skewer to make the little gathered tuft at the top of his head and a hole in the bottom that's big enough to hold the top of the tassel. Use the light green clay to make two little balls and flatten them onto the face for eyes. Do the same thing with the darker color in the center. Make a little rope in the light green for the mouth, and then fill in the teeth with white. Make the skinniest, tiniest rope out of black clay that you can and make a little triangle. Make two of these and poke the tops with the eye pin before baking. Trim the tails from the top string on the tassel and thread it onto the eye pin. Coat the top of the tassel with super glue and insert the whole thing into your pumpkin, pushing up the top of the tassel until it's hidden inside the pumpkin. Use pliers to make a little loop with the eye pin, trimming it down if you need to. Thread the loop onto your earring finding and your Enoch earrings are done. Amy Plante
